mom cat poem
Expecting Cat
Where do come from?
From a house in town.
Why did you leave?
They said I had to go.
Did they know about the kittens?
Yes, they’d seen the tomcats
coming round.
You’re very lucky
to be let in here.
Yes, I gathered that.
I’m not sure they want another cat..
It’s nice here; I’m getting fat!
Do you know the rules?
Not really. Would it help?
I think it could; you must be good.
Use the litter pan and keep tidy.
Do not claw the furniture or screens.
Do not jump upon the stove
or yowl at night. No scratching is allowed
and shedding fur should be avoided.
Absolutely, do not bite.
The mother stray, said she’d obey.
Perhaps, she’ll get to stay
another night!
